How do I pay for my storage?
Monthly rent can be paid via direct bank transfer using the following details (you MUST use your last name and space number as reference)

Alternatively, payments can be made using cash or credit card in the office. Credit card payments can also be made over the phone or set up as automatic monthly payments. We accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and Discover. We do not accept American Express cards.
Is there a minimum rental period?
One month is the minimum rental period for storage.
When do I have to pay my rental?
Rent must be paid on or before the rental term is commenced. You will then be invoiced 9 days before your rent is due.
What happens if I don't pay my storage unit rent?
If the account is not paid in full after 42 days from the rent due date, the Facility Owner – Cairns Beaches Storage – may enter the space and sell/dispose of goods as per Clause 23 in the Standard Storage Agreement.
When are administration fees for late payments charged to my account?
Administration fees are added after 14 days of the due date not being paid in full
Do I need to pay a deposit?
There is a $100 security deposit which is fully refundable once the storer vacates if the space is left in a clean condition and no excess storage fees are unpaid.
Are there any extra charges?
No, the rental prices are GST inclusive.
Is insurance included in my storage hire costs?
NO – however we can easily get a quote for you through Midland Insurance to suit what you are storing. Prices for rental insurance start at $57.
Do I need storage insurance?
Goods are stored at your own risk – We do recommend that you take out insurance cover, however, the choice is left up to you.
Can I move out before the end of my storage rental term?
Yes, you can move out at any time. We ask that you give us 5 days notice, however, if this isn’t possible or doesn’t happen we prorate your rent up to the date (with notice) or up to the date +5 days (without notice).
If I move out of my storage unit part way through a month, will you refund me the remainder?
The rent is prorated to the date you move out as long as 5 days notice has been given and the minimum rental period of one month has been fulfilled.
Do I need to provide my own padlock?
You do need to provide your own padlock. We sell a range of different padlocks in our office starting at $8.
When do I have access to my storage unit?
Unless otherwise advised, you have 24 hour access to your space.
Will anyone else have a key to my storage unit? Do Cairns Beaches Storage staff have access to my storage unit?
You are the only one who has access to your space.
Can a removalist take my belongings to my storage unit?
Yes, if you are present and can give them access to your unit. If you will not be present, we need to be informed in advance of which removalist you are using and they will need to arrive within business hours of M-F 8:30-5pm for us to allow them access to the building. You will need to organise a lock with your removalist (you can give them an open one and keep the keys). We will NOT hold onto keys – even temporarily.
What happens if I choose the wrong size storage unit?
We will be happy to assist you in finding the right size storage unit and will allow you one week’s grace period to move from one unit to the other without paying additional rental fees.
How far in advance can I book a storage unit?
We take reservations two weeks in advance, with the $100 security deposit. During busy times this may not always be possible – please enquire.
Is the Cairns Beaches Storage office open on public holidays?
You have access to your space on public holidays, however, the office is not open on public holidays or weekends. We are always contactable for EMERGENCIES on the office line 4057 8274.
What happens if I have a problem in the facility after hours?
We are always contactable for EMERGENCIES on the office line 4057 8274. Please be sure to leave a voicemail outlining the emergency and contact details so that we can phone you right back.
What hours can I access my unit? Can I access my storage unit outside of business hours?
The access is 24 hours a day.
Are the storage units clean and dry?
All our sheds are enclosed, they are cleaned and pest controlled before anyone moves in.
What kind of security is provided at the storage facility?
There is 24 hour video surveillance, a security fence around the perimeter of our outdoor storage and each tenant is given their own code or security fob to get in.
Do you help me move my belonging from my storage unit?
We don’t assist with moving, however, a removalist can be hired to do that for you.
Can CBS recommend a removalist?
We have plenty of reliable local and interstate removalists we can recommend.
Does my storage unit have power?
None of the units/spaces have power.
